TIMESLOTS
If you have chosen a dedicated time slot, which is preferable, your instructor will pre-book these onto the diary and they will be visible the app.
Approximately 20 lessons will be placed onto the diary, to cover your learning to drive journey. This is to reserve the slot.
If you have topped up your account, and in credit, the credit will pay for the lessons, however most will not be pre-paid. It is important to top up your account a minimum of 48 hours before each lesson, to ensure it is paid for, BEFORE THE LESSON TAKES PLACE. If a lesson is not paid for it will not go ahead.
If the learner is ready before the 20 hours, and the test is passed, this is ok, they will not be expected to complete 20 lessons. If the learner requires longer this is ok, and the slot will be extended.
If you can no longer use your slot, on a long term basis (change of job, school timetable etc) please contact me ASAP, if I have another suitable slot available, you can take this, if not, you will be placed on a waiting list for the new slot.
If you cannot make a lesson, due to a one off situation you can cancel the lesson via the app in the help section 48 hours prior. This is understandable as we all need breaks and rest, and holidays.
Regular cancellation, last minute, or no show etc, could result in you losing your allocated slot, and this is at the instructor's discretion. These slots are valuable, and in high demand.
PAYMENT
Your lesson must be pre-paid via bank transfer, a minimum of 48 hours prior to the lesson commencing. I will endeavour to remind you, but it is up to you to ensure this is done. Failure to do this will mean the lesson will not go ahead. If you are not sure if a lesson is paid for please ask me directly, or use the TotalDrive App to check your credit status.
All lessons MUST be cancelled 48 hours prior to the lesson via the instructor, in order to be eligible for a refund. Any time less than 48 hrs you may forfeit your lesson fee.
If a lesson is cancelled with 48hrs notice, the lesson fee will go back into your credit, and will then pay for your next available lesson. EG this weeks lesson is pre-paid, but next weeks isn't, if you cancel this weeks, the money will return to your credit, but will then be allocated to next week.
It is important to note, that I hold your lesson credit, and it will remain held until a lesson is delivered, or cancelled but chargable.
INSTRUCTOR CANCELATIONS
I will endeavour to stick to your schedule as much as possible, however, I reserve the right to remove lessons from the diary. If this is done then the 48hr rule does not apply, and you will be credited the refund back.
If I need to take a day off, or leave, or holiday, I will endeavour to give you as much notice as possible, and then remove the lesson. It will disappear from the app, and you will be credited back as above.
UNFORSEEN CIRCUMSTANCES
As the tool we use to teach in, is a mechanical vehicle, unfortunately anything can happen at any time, I cannot be held responsible for these situations and as such, last minute cancelations can occur, EG (but not limited to) punctures, breakdowns, accidents or incidents. I will notify you ASAP, lessons would be cancelled, and updates given. This also applies if you have a test booked. If my vehicle is not roadworthy, due to unfoceen circumstances, the lesson for the test would be cancelled and you would be required to make alternative arrangements. I cannot be held liable for you missing your test.
ANOTHER LEARNER HAS A TEST
As is quite common place, the tests are difficult to obtain, and can be some time away. I will expect any learner to sacrifice their normal lesson for a test booking. As when it comes to your test, its highly doubtful, it will be at the exact time and day as your allocated slot.
LEARNER NOT READY FOR TEST
As professional instructors, we know if a learner is ready for a test or not. They will have completed all the required subjects and be doing them to an independent level. The tracker is used to track progress. If a learner has a test booked and isn't ready this does not give the implied right that they can use MY vehicle, and I reserve the right to withdraw the use of my car at any time. It is important to note that when a learner presents for a test, they are declaring that they are ready to drive independently. While examiners are trained to use dual controls etc, they are not required to intervene in any way and acting in an observatory capacity, therefore any incidents and accidents in my car, means a claim on my insurance and a loss of income, hence the right to withdraw.
